Our Preschool Program

At Northwest Christian Childcare, our preschool program consists of four rooms, ranging ages three through five years. Each room utilizes The Creative Curriculum for Preschool, and teachers are continually working together in teams inside the classrooms and as a department to guarantee that each child has his or her needs met in their next steps toward kindergarten readiness. It is our goal within the preschool department and throughout the entire center to formulate comfortable, fun and effective learning environments in every classroom, shaped around how children best learn and grow. We believe in fostering strong relationships between parents and teachers, so that all are actively involved in the readiness process. At NWCCC we know learning doesn’t stop when we leave the classroom and that is an exciting thing!

Different from the Infants, Toddlers and Twos program, The Creative Curriculum for Preschool is based on 38 objectives for development and learning. These objectives are fully aligned with the Head Start Development, Early Learning Framework and state early learning standards. The curriculum is used to ensure that we are important early learning standards every day, while bringing our own creativity and expertise into daily planning. What’s more, the curriculum also offers daily opportunities to individualize instruction by helping every learner, with a particular focus on language development.

Throughout the course of the preschool, and in each room, teachers complete progress reports for every child at least bi-annually. These progress reports ensure that each child gets their specific learning needs met and opens the door for teachers and parents to hold (at least) yearly conferences where these needs can be discussed and best met by all.
